How to Segment an Orange – Easily.
Orange segments look great when serving dishes. Especially a dish like my Best Ever Vegan Chocolate Orange Tart.
And this step by step photo guide will show you just how easy it is with minimal waste.
You will need a chopping board and a sharp knife. I have used a serrated knife but any sharp knife will work.
Start by cutting the top and bottom off the orange.

Next, stand the orange on one of the cut edges and slice the peel off the orange from the top to the bottom, following the curve of the orange.

Continuing this until all the peel has been removed. You may have to turn it upside down to remove any bits you missed.

Now, cut into the orange along the line of the skin that divides each segment.

Lifting each segment out as you go.

Cut any excess skin off as you only want the flesh.

Continue until all the segments have been removed.
